Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Veeam Presales Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Veeam’s product set and the ability to design and implement solutions for our customers. This role requires expertise in both on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based solutions, particularly within our CiCloud platform, which offers Backup as a Service (BaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), Microsoft 365 Backup, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) solutions. As an HPE partner, skills in HPE solutions and adjacent technologies like VMware and proxmox are also desired.

 

Main duties of the role:

 

  • Solution Design: Design and architect Veeam-based solutions for on-premises and cloud environments, including BaaS, DRaaS, M365 Backup, and CDP.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide deep technical knowledge of Veeam products and adjacent technologies such as VMware and HPE solutions.
  • Customer Engagement: Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and design tailored solutions that meet their needs.
  • Presales Support: Assist the sales team with technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof of concept (POC) activities.
  • Bid / Tender writing: From customer tender requirements, design a solution, work with cost models, and write technical answers to tender questions to drive new wins in our Cloud Backup Services.
  • Implementation Support: Collaborate with the implementation team to ensure successful deployment of designed solutions.

 

Specialist Experience desired:

 

  • Veeam Product Expertise:
    • Extensive hands-on experience with Veeam’s product suite, including Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam ONE, Veeam Availability Suite, and Veeam Cloud Connect.
    • Proven track record of designing and implementing Veeam-based solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments.
    • Experience in configuring and managing Veeam solutions for Backup as a Service (BaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), Microsoft 365 Backup, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) offerings.
  • Cloud and On-Premises Infrastructure:
    • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud environments.
    • Experience with on-premises infrastructure, including storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
    • Ability to integrate Veeam solutions with various cloud services and on-premises systems to create comprehensive data protection strategies.
  • HPE and VMware Solutions:
    • Familiarity with HPE storage and server solutions, including HPE Nimble Storage, HPE 3PAR, and HPE ProLiant servers.
    • Experience with VMware virtualisation technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, and vSAN.
    • Ability to design and implement solutions that leverage HPE and VMware technologies in conjunction with Veeam products.
  • Customer Engagement and Presales Support:
    • Demonstrated ability to engage with customers to understand their business requirements and technical needs.
    • Experience in conducting technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof of concept (POC) activities.
    • Proven ability to translate customer requirements into effective solutions.
  • Implementation and Support:
    • Experience in collaborating with implementation teams to ensure successful deployment of designed solutions.
    • Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation and solution designs.
  • Continuous Learning and Development:
    • Commitment to staying updated with the latest developments in Veeam products and related technologies.
    • Active participation in industry events, webinars, and training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Experience and Skills

Essential

  • Exceptional understanding of the Veeam technology suite
  • Experience working with/for a Managed Service Provider.
  • Face to face meeting confidence & any experience presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication skills capable of formal proposal writing.
  • Working with tender responses / proposal writing.
  • Customer needs analysis.
  • Solution selling.
  • Thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn new technologies.

Desirable

  • You can demonstrate technical awareness or experience of designing or supporting: Microsoft Azure, Disaster Recovery software solutions, Server & SAN Technologies, Virtualisation, particularly VMware or Hyper-V, operating systems and applications, particularly modern Microsoft servers and workspace technologies, Network Technologies: LAN/WLAN/WAN, preferably Aruba, Office 365, Cloud technologies.
  • Additionally, any experience in the following: • Scripting and automation • Business acumen • Cost modelling
